A fire broke out at a residence on Van Hanxleden Houwertstraat in Geuzenveld around 10:45 PM on Saturday, April 19, 2026. Following the extinguishing of the blaze, the fire department handed over the investigation to the police. Authorities subsequently arrested one man in connection with the incident, though his relationship to the property and his specific involvement remain unclear. While police could not confirm or deny reports from multiple neighbors suggesting the presence of a cannabis plantation within the home, they emphasized that the arrest was not for arson. The police are appealing for any witnesses with additional information to come forward.
