Bundesweite Ausfälle Ver.di ruft zu Warnstreiks im Nahverkehr auf 24.02.2026

The ver.di trade union has called for a nationwide warning strike in public transport, impacting buses, trams, and subways for 48 hours from Friday, February 27th, until early Sunday morning. This action affects numerous cities, including Berlin, 13 Bavarian cities (e.g., Munich, Nuremberg), and several Hessian cities (e.g., Frankfurt, Wiesbaden). The strike is a result of stalled collective bargaining negotiations for approximately 100,000 employees across 150 municipal transport companies. Ver.di demands improved working conditions, such as shorter weekly hours, better shift arrangements, and higher surcharges for night and weekend work, alongside increased wages in specific states. Deputy Chair Christine Behle expressed disappointment over the lack of negotiation progress, stressing the urgency of improving conditions. A previous 24-hour strike occurred on February 2nd.
