Bursa Malaysia opened on a positive note today in Kuala Lumpur, driven by improved investor sentiment following the mostly positive performance of Wall Street last Friday. At 9:10 am, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) index rose by 1.13 points to reach 1,680.18, compared to Friday's closing level of 1,679.05. The index initially showed stronger momentum, opening 3.35 points higher at 1,682.40. Despite the index's upward movement, the overall market breadth remained negative, as decliners outnumbered gainers with a ratio of 190 to 144. Additionally, 316 counters remained unchanged, while 2,000 shares were untraded and 10 were suspended. Trading activity saw a turnover of 131.52 million shares, which were valued at a total of RM66.48 million during the early session.
