Canada's Victoria Mboko out of National Bank Open with knee injury 07.07.2026

Canadian tennis star Victoria Mboko has officially withdrawn from the National Bank Open presented by Rogers due to a persistent knee injury. The Burlington, Ontario native, currently ranked world No. 10, suffered an injury to the medial collateral ligament in her left knee during the HSBC Championships last month. This significant injury has already sidelined her from the remainder of the grass-court season, including a missed appearance at Wimbledon. Her absence now extends into the North American hardcourt campaign, preventing her from competing in her hometown tournament at Sobeys Stadium. According to a statement from Tennis Canada, Mboko expressed that being unable to participate in the Toronto event, scheduled for August 2-13, is deeply disappointing for her. This setback marks a difficult period for the 2025 tournament champion as she focuses on recovery.
