Roadside well unnoticed, car drives into it, 9 killed: Freak Nashik mishap 14h ago

Nine members of a family, including six children, tragically died in a late-night accident in the Shivajinagar area of Dindori tehsil, Nashik district, Maharashtra, on Friday. The victims were traveling in a multi-utility vehicle after attending a get-together when the driver, reportedly failing to notice an unmarked roadside well in the dark, veered off the road. The vehicle plunged into the well, trapping all occupants. Rescue operations, involving local swimmers and cranes, lasted nearly two hours, but all nine were declared dead at a nearby government hospital. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis expressed condolences and announced financial assistance of ₹5 lakh to the heirs of the deceased, ordering an investigation into the incident.
