Cautionary Tale: Man Electrocuted to Death While Cutting Bamboo for Grilled Chicken Shop 07.07.2026

On July 7, 2026, at 1:30 PM, a tragic accident occurred on a dirt road near a bamboo grove in Ban Kham Mai, Moo 14, Ban Kham Subdistrict, Mueang District, Nong Bua Lamphu Province. Mr. Winai, 59, was electrocuted to death by high-voltage power lines while cutting bamboo for a grilled chicken shop he was working for. It is suspected that the cut bamboo was highly moist, causing it to fall across high-voltage lines approximately 10 meters above the ground. Mr. Winai attempted to pull the bamboo away from the wires, causing the electric current to flow through his body to the ground, resulting in immediate death. At the scene, a cleaver was found near the body, and a burn mark approximately 20 centimeters long was found on the victim's right thigh. Police and medical officers inspected the scene and released the body to the relatives for religious rites. The relatives are not pursuing further action regarding the cause of death, viewing it as a tragic misfortune.
