Residents of an apartment block located on Triq Luigi Apap in St Julian’s experienced a terrifying ordeal during the early hours of Monday morning. According to CCTV footage, a group of men broke into the building by smashing a glass panel in the front door. The intruders then moved through the block, tearing metal poles from stair railings to use as weapons to ram apartment doors. One man was recorded shouting death threats in Italian during the rampage. One resident reported that the group successfully broke down his door leading to the communal area, forcing him to defend himself with a knife. Despite the significant property damage and the intense fear experienced by tenants, no apartments were successfully entered and no injuries were reported. Police arrived at the scene shortly after the incident, and investigations into the violent attack are currently ongoing.
