Ce que l'on sait de la marche d'ultradroite organisée samedi à Lyon en hommage au militant identitaire Quentin Deranque 20.02.2026

A far-right march organized in Lyon on Saturday, February 21st, in tribute to the identitarian militant Quentin Deranque, who died on February 12th after being fatally struck during a brawl, has been authorized by Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez. Despite requests for prohibition from Lyon's mayor, Grégory Doucet, Nuñez stated he would not ban the demonstration, citing the protection of freedom of expression and promising a significant police presence to ensure public order. The family of Quentin Deranque has announced they will not participate and have called for calm, with their lawyer wishing for a gathering without political expression. Authorities anticipate between 2,000 and 3,000 participants, including some from neighboring countries, and are also preparing for potential counter-demonstrations.
