The Ateliers du bocage, a cooperative based in Le Pin, Deux-Sèvres, has launched "K-bossés," a new line of refurbished PCs that embrace aesthetic imperfections to combat digital waste. These professional-grade, second-hand computers, which might otherwise be discarded due to scratches, cracks, or chipped paint, are thoroughly tested and come with a 12-month warranty, ensuring their performance remains high. This initiative aims to offer affordable technology, with prices ranging from 144 to 286 euros, significantly lower than the potential 420 euros for standard refurbished models. The cooperative, employing 200 people, sees this as a more profitable and environmentally conscious alternative to selling parts and is considering expanding the "K-bossés" concept to smartphones.
