On July 1, the new water and sewerage tariff framework, established by the Water and Basic Sanitation Regulatory Commission (CRA) through Resolution 1032 of 2026, came into effect. This regulation applies to large providers, such as Aguas de Cartagena, which serves more than 5,000 urban users. The company informed El Universal that, for the second half of 2026, tariffs will remain unchanged, opting not to apply the maximum permitted rate to mitigate potential economic impacts and ensure an orderly transition.
