On the 20th anniversary of Yinxu's UNESCO World Heritage inscription, China Daily partnered with the Anyang government to launch the Jiagu Xungen IP on July 13, 2026. This visual storytelling project translates ancient oracle bone inscriptions into contemporary design, aiming to make them accessible and emotionally resonant in the modern era. Unlike Egyptian hieroglyphs or Mesopotamian cuneiform, oracle bone script remains the direct ancestor of Chinese characters used by over one billion people today.
