Außenhandelsbilanz 2025 China erneut wichtigster Handelspartner Deutschlands 20.02.2026

In 2025, China re-emerged as Germany's most significant trading partner, surpassing the United States with a total import and export volume of €251.8 billion, a figure that remained consistent at 8.6% of Germany's foreign trade. This shift highlights the disruptions to German exports during Donald Trump's first term, as trade with the US declined by nearly €13 billion, now accounting for 8.2% of German trade. While the US remains the largest export market, German exports there, particularly automotive parts, fell by over 9% and 17.8% respectively due to increased US tariffs. Trade with China also contracted by nearly 10%, while imports from China more than doubled to €170.6 billion, resulting in a nearly €90 billion trade deficit. Experts warn this trend, driven by redirected Chinese goods and China's pursuit of global market leadership in key sectors, necessitates diversifying supply chains and strengthening German competitiveness.
