China's exports accelerated sharply in June, jumping 27% from a year earlier, according to the customs agency. This growth, driven by the artificial intelligence boom, far surpassed economists' expectations and was an improvement over May's 19.4% increase. Imports also surged 36% in June, up from 27.4% in May. The strength in export manufacturing, particularly for vehicles including EVs and tech-related products like semiconductors, has helped counterbalance weakness in domestic spending and investment.
