China's H1 cross-border trips hit record high of 369 million, up 10.8% 14.07.2026

China's National Immigration Administration (NIA) reported a historic high of 369 million cross-border trips in the first half of 2026, reflecting a 10.8% increase from the same period last year. The data, released at a press briefing on Friday, breaks down into 176 million trips by mainland residents (up 10.7%), 147 million by residents of Hong Kong SAR, Macao SAR, and Taiwan region (up 8.1%), and 45.906 million by international visitors (up 20.6%). Foreign arrivals specifically reached 22.914 million, a 20.4% year-on-year rise.
