Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot held phone talks on Monday regarding the situation in Iran, emphasizing the need for major countries to avoid arbitrary military attacks and uphold international norms. Wang stressed that the Iranian nuclear issue should be resolved through political and diplomatic means, urging France to adopt an objective and impartial stance to promote de-escalation in the Middle East. Barrot highlighted the shared responsibility of France and China as UN Security Council permanent members in maintaining peace and security, noting that recent military operations against Iran lacked UN Security Council authorization.
