Christian Borg loses €160,000 appeal over ‘falsified' lift agreement 04.06.2026

The Court of Appeal has dismissed Christian Borg's €160,000 appeal against Christopher and Philip Camilleri, upholding a prior ruling that his case relied on a potentially forged private agreement. Borg, owner of No Deposit Cars, had sued the Camilleris, claiming they failed to fully install two lifts ordered for his showroom despite receiving advance payment. He sought to enforce a November 25, 2019 agreement that purportedly obligated the suppliers to pay him €160,000 in penalties for delays. The defendants contested the agreement's validity, with Christopher Camilleri testifying he never signed it. The appeals court affirmed the lower court's findings that the signature resembled anothers, the ID number was incorrect, and Borg's failure to produce the original document, submitting only a copy, was a critical failure. Given these issues and Borg's repeated missed opportunities to present evidence, the court ruled against him, ordering him to cover all legal costs.
