Châteaux, palais, abbayes...40 millions d'euros pour restaurer et valoriser 17 monuments nationaux 20.02.2026

The Centre des monuments nationaux (CMN) has received an exceptional €40 million from the recovery plan to restore and enhance 17 national monuments across France since 2021. These extensive restoration and modernization projects, involving numerous heritage artisans, have significantly supported local economies. Work has included structural repairs, such as at the Château de Villeneuve-Lembron and the fortifications of Carcassonne and Angers, as well as architectural restoration, like at the Palais du Tau in Reims and the Abbaye du Mont-Saint-Michel. Several sites have also seen improvements to visitor accessibility and the creation of new exhibition spaces, such as at the Château de Bussy-Rabutin and the Abbaye de Beaulieu-en-Rouergue, with a new museum dedicated to royal coronations set to open at the Palais du Tau in Reims in 2026.
