Citybus driver dies after collapsing, losing control of vehicle on Hong Kong road 12.04.2026

A 42-year-old Citybus driver died on Saturday night after collapsing at the wheel of his empty vehicle on Chung Yan Road in Hong Kong. The incident occurred at 10:55 pm as the driver was en route between depots, causing the bus to mount a pavement. He was rushed to North Lantau Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after midnight on Sunday. The driver, who had been with Citybus for nearly three years and had been on leave the day prior, showed no superficial injuries. Citybus expressed deep sorrow and pledged support to his family and cooperation with the police investigation, which is being handled by the New Territories South traffic headquarters’ special investigation team.
