Conceptual Support for Child-Care Period Supplements to Old-Age Pensions 03.07.2026

The Demographic Affairs Council agreed today on further actions to improve the demographic situation, conceptually supporting several support measures for families with children. One of the primary decisions is the introduction of a supplement to the old-age pension for each month of the child-care period. Funds obtained as a result of expenditure reviews will be prioritized for financing demographic policy measures, including the revision of state family benefits and compensation for individual insurance periods from 1991 to 1995.
