Family members of Constable Dinesh Sharma, a key witness in the 2017 custodial death case connected to the Gudiya rape-murder in Kotkhai, Shimla, have accused police of mental harassment. Speaking to media on Wednesday, his brother Suresh alleged that Dinesh was transferred five times in one-and-a-half months and has now been suspended. Suresh highlighted that Dinesh's son is severely disabled and requires his father's daily care for transportation to school, and that Dinesh had requested a deferment of transfer on humanitarian grounds. He claimed that after visiting Lok Bhavan to raise the issue, Dinesh was suspended instead of receiving relief.
