Constitutional Court of BiH Rejects Appeal of Srećko Aćimović, Convicted of Aiding Genocide in Srebrenica 14.07.2026

The Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina has rejected as unfounded the appeal of Srećko Aćimović, who was sentenced to seven years in prison for aiding in the genocide committed against Bosniaks from Srebrenica. In his appeal, Aćimović claimed that his right to a fair trial had been violated, alleging that the courts failed to conscientiously and carefully evaluate all evidence, particularly evidence in his favor. However, the Constitutional Court concluded that both the first-instance and second-instance judgments of the Court of BiH contained detailed reasoning for the acceptance or rejection of specific evidence, and that guilt was established not only based on the testimony of protected witnesses SA-1 and SA-5, but also through other witnesses and material evidence.
