On Thursday, the Council approved an update to the ordinance regulating smoke-free environments, incorporating electronic cigarettes, vapes, and heated tobacco products into the restrictions. The new regulation also prohibits the advertising and promotion of these devices. Councilwoman Carolina Labayru, in statements to De Boca en Boca (Radio 2), explained that it is a straightforward ordinance that follows the same path as the regulation of traditional cigarettes in 2006, when commercial losses and social anger were feared, but the population eventually adapted.
