According to an anonymous furniture supplier, the Morettis allegedly opted against installing fire-retardant materials to cut costs, with Jessica Moretti reportedly stating they had "connections in the commune" to secure permits. This revelation comes as an internal audit from 2023, accessed by RTS, highlighted severe deficiencies within Crans-Montana's fire control department, citing insufficient resources, personnel, and time. The audit also indicated that personal and political relationships often superseded professional qualifications during hiring within the commune's administration.
