The Court of Appeal in Putrajaya has set September 4 as the date for its decision on an appeal by former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and his son Datuk Mohd Nazifuddin to stay bankruptcy proceedings initiated by the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN). The proceedings stem from their failure to settle tax arrears amounting to RM1.69 billion for Najib and RM37.6 million for Nazifuddin for the period between 2011 and 2017. A three-judge panel chaired by Justice Dr Alwi Abdul Wahab, with Justices Dr Shahnaz Sulaiman and Ong Chee Kwan, set the date after hearing submissions on Friday (July 3).
