Court orders two-month detention for Aleksanyan 03.06.2026

Aleksan Aleksanyan, a member of the Mer Dzevov movement and a supporter of the Strong Armenia party, has been ordered to remain in pretrial detention for two months. The Investigative Committee of Armenia stated that Aleksanyan faces charges of financially encouraging individuals to participate in public gatherings and money laundering. Investigators allege that between September 2025 and May 2026, Aleksanyan recruited approximately 1,400 people through service contracts via the Mer Dezvov NGO to swell the ranks of rallies organized by the Strong Armenia party and the Mer Dezvov movement. A significant number of these recruited individuals were reportedly employed simultaneously by other companies.
