Court Rejects Appeal Against Dismissal of Abuse of Power Charges Against Park Sung-jae and Lee Wan-kyu 03.07.2026

The Criminal Division 33 of the Seoul Central District Court has rejected the appeal filed by former Minister of Justice Park Sung-jae and former Director of the Legislation and Harmonization Research Institute Lee Wan-kyu. The appeal challenged the first-instance ruling that dismissed the charges. The court determined that the appeal was filed in violation of legal procedures or after the expiration of the appeal period, pursuant to Article 360 of the Criminal Procedure Act.
