The President of Senegal, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, announced on Friday, July 3, his intention to create a political party to strengthen organic unity around his person and to prepare for upcoming electoral deadlines. This decision follows a nearly four-hour audience at the Palace of the Republic, bringing together 306 mayors from the Diomaye Président Coalition representing all 14 regions of the country. To realize this ambition, the Head of State has mandated Aminata Touré, general supervisor of the coalition, to establish a reflection committee tasked with preparing the constituent elements of the new party. The mayors in attendance praised the presidential vision and his project for systemic transformation, reaffirming their unwavering support for the success of the five-year term.
