Crues : l’alerte rouge maintenue en Maine-et-Loire, les niveaux vont se stabiliser 22.02.2026

Météo France has maintained a red alert for flood risk in Maine-et-Loire, specifically for the lower Loire, the Angers lowlands, and the Saumur Loire. As of Sunday, February 22nd, water levels remain critically high, with significant overflows observed in the Ponts-de-Cé and Saumur areas, approaching or equaling levels not seen since December 1982. The Angers lowlands have stabilized, with levels exceeding those of January 2000 and matching the 1982 flood. The lower Loire is expected to peak today, with a very gradual decrease anticipated from Monday. Despite the cessation of rainfall, floodwaters are persisting due to saturation and upstream contributions.
