CSU politician Claus Jürgen Pappler, a city council candidate for Oberasbach, has unexpectedly died from a heart attack. Pappler was a co-founder of the recently established association "Herzschock," dedicated to making defibrillators accessible in public spaces and offering resuscitation courses. His initiative was spurred by a February 2025 incident where a goalkeeper collapsed and died after a publicly available defibrillator could not be reached. Pappler, an entrepreneur and volunteer paramedic, emphasized the critical need for accessible devices in emergencies. The CSU Oberasbach expressed deep sorrow and pledged to honor his memory.
