Cyberangriff auf die Bahn BSI geht nicht von weiteren Auswirkungen aus 19.02.2026

A cyberattack impacted Deutsche Bahn's information and booking systems on Tuesday and Wednesday, with the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) stating there are no further expected consequences. BSI President Claudia Plattner indicated the situation appears resolved, though new attacks remain possible, emphasizing that customer data was not compromised. The railway company initially reported disruptions on Tuesday afternoon, with systems largely stabilizing by evening, but issues resurfaced Wednesday morning, leading to the identification of a Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack as the cause. While DDoS attacks are common in Germany and have increased since the Ukraine conflict, often for propaganda, the perpetrator and motivation behind this specific incident remain unknown.
