Cyprus and France solidified their defense ties on Monday by signing a Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) in Nicosia, facilitating enhanced military cooperation and the potential positioning of French troops on Cypriot soil. Defence Minister Vasilis Palmas and his French counterpart Catherine Vautrin finalized the deal, which establishes a legal framework for military personnel exchanges and activities between the two nations.
