The Cypriot government has lodged a formal protest with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, detailing more than 500 violations of the island's airspace and territorial waters by Turkish military forces between March and May. In a letter penned by Cyprus's permanent UN representative Maria Michael, the government reported 520 aerial violations—103 involving unmanned combat drones such as Bayraktar TB2 and Bayraktar Akinci—and 196 by Turkish fighter jets. Additionally, 23 naval violations were recorded, including incursions by Kilic-class corvettes, Tuzla-class patrol boats, and submarines.
