„Das Gesetz muss seinen Lauf nehmen“: König Charles äußert sich zur Festnahme von Ex-Prinz Andrew 19.02.2026

King Charles III has expressed "greatest concern" following the arrest of his brother, Prince Andrew, in connection with allegations of misconduct in public office. The 77-year-old monarch emphasized the independence of the judiciary, stating, "The law must take its course," and assured full support for the proper investigation by authorities. Prince Andrew, 66, was reportedly arrested in Sandringham by Thames Valley Police, who also searched properties in Norfolk and Berkshire. The allegations stem from claims that Andrew, in his former role as trade envoy, forwarded confidential documents to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. While Andrew has denied wrongdoing in past civil proceedings, he has remained silent on these new accusations. The family of Virginia Giuffre, an Epstein victim who had accused Andrew of abuse, welcomed the arrest, stating that "no one is above the law."
