The death of Raúl Alberto Pereyra, a 79-year-old man originally from Santa Fe, exposed a clandestine nursing home operating in a residence at 631 Benevente Street, in Las Heras. Pereyra, who suffered from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), was admitted lifeless to Carrillo Hospital on Thursday afternoon. His stepson told police that the asylum "La Madrecita" had called him to pick up his stepfather due to a power outage that had left the elderly man without his artificial respirator since 9:30 in the morning.
