Deaths after Russian attack on apartment buildings in Ukrainian city of Sumy 04.07.2026

Four people have died and 27 have been injured in a Russian attack with heavy glide bombs on the center of the Ukrainian city of Sumy, the regional governor reports. The attack hit several apartment buildings and shops on a busy street. A five-year-old child and her mother are among the victims, and people may still be under the rubble. This attack follows earlier Russian bombings in the Sumy border region and in the southeastern Dnipropetrovsk region, where two people were killed and twelve injured in Nikopol, and two deaths also occurred in Zaporizhzhia. The recent attacks come after the heavy bombings of Kyiv on Thursday, which claimed 30 lives and caused a day of mourning in the capital.
