Deciding the Fate of Billions: M. Sinkevičius Discusses Pension Increases for This Year 03.07.2026

Future Prime Minister Mindaugas Sinkevičius told journalists on Friday that old-age pensions will be increased next year, but refrained from making specific predictions regarding whether a portion of the "Sodra" reserve could be used for this purpose. He emphasized that pension indexation is ongoing and linked to economic growth, meaning an increase will certainly occur, though he declined to improvise on the scale of the increase or its connection to the reserve. In this year's state budget, pensions grew by an average of 12%, with the average old-age pension now standing at 750 euros, and 810 euros for those with the required seniority.
