On Tuesday, Defence Minister Vasilis Palmas visited the Christos Samaras military camp in Athalassa to oversee the commencement of the 2026 enlistment process for the Cyprus National Guard. During his visit, Palmas addressed the new recruits and their families, emphasizing that the dignity and respect of every individual are non-negotiable throughout their 14-month service.
