Definitiv nicht vorbei: Schnee-Peitsche schnalzt über Bayern hinweg – Meteorologin warnt vor Folgen 19.02.2026

Bavaria is bracing for a significant winter weather event starting Wednesday evening, February 18th, as a "snow wall" moves in from the southwest. Meteorologist Daniela Kreck from "The Weather Channel Deutschland" warns of potentially severe conditions, including heavy snowfall and dangerous black ice caused by freezing rain, particularly in the Alpine foothills and lower elevations. The German Weather Service (DWD) corroborates these warnings, predicting light snowfall across various regions and significant icing in western Bavaria. Further snowfall is expected throughout Thursday, with amounts ranging from 2 to 8 centimeters in eastern Bavaria, and up to 20 centimeters in the south due to a low-pressure system from Italy. Higher Alpine regions could see 20-40 centimeters by Friday morning, ensuring a wintry weekend for the state.
