Dermatose nodulaire : "Une situation exceptionnelle"… Il n’y aura pas d’animaux à la plus grande foire agricole d’Occitanie 21.02.2026

The 66th edition of Réalmont's agricultural fair, the largest in Occitanie, scheduled for April 11-12, will be held without cattle for the first time in its history due to the ongoing crisis of nodular dermatosis. This significant absence, which typically draws 50,000 visitors, is a direct consequence of the sanitary situation, with organizers and breeders unwilling to risk potential infections and repercussions on their farms. While equine and ovine sectors have also withdrawn in solidarity, poultry will still be present. To compensate for the lack of livestock, the fair will feature an expanded local producer market and an extensive exhibition of agricultural machinery, including tractors, alongside a new children's play area. Organizers express regret over this "exceptional situation" but are determined to maintain the event's spirit, emphasizing that the connection to animals remains central to Réalmont's identity.
