Des corps calcinés : au moins cinq jeunes, méconnaissables, meurent dans l’incendie d’un immeuble près de Barcelone 17.02.2026

A devastating fire erupted on the roof of a five-story building in Manlleu, Spain, on the evening of Monday, February 16th, resulting in the deaths of at least five young individuals and injuries to four others. The blaze, which began in a rooftop storage area around 9:10 PM and was contained by 9:41 PM, tragically claimed the lives of victims whose bodies were so severely burned that they were unrecognizable. While initially speculated to be a living space, the area was confirmed to be a gathering spot for young people, some of whom may have been minors aged between 12 and 16. Three of the injured were hospitalized and have since been released, while the fourth refused treatment. The Mossos d’Esquadra are investigating the cause of the fire and the circumstances that prevented victims from escaping. The mayor of Manlleu has declared three days of mourning.
