A 39-year-old German tourist drowned on Monday afternoon, February 23rd, at Praia do Canal beach in Aljezur, Algarve, Portugal. While an autopsy is pending to determine the exact cause of death, investigators suspect the man may have slipped upon entering the water and struck his head on rocks. He was pulled from the water by a companion within minutes but could not be revived despite resuscitation attempts. Emergency services, including the INEM, maritime police, and the Aljezur volunteer fire brigade, responded to the incident, which also involved a helicopter. This incident follows the recent disappearance of a 20-year-old Romanian tourist from the same beach since February 19th.
