Deutscher Wetterdienst warnt im Nordosten vor Glätte 21.02.2026

The Deutscher Wetterdienst (DWD) has issued a warning for icy conditions in northeastern Germany due to freezing rain, particularly affecting areas between the Baltic Sea and Lausitz until the morning. This phenomenon, spreading from west to east, is expected to cause significant disruptions to road and rail traffic, as well as posing risks for pedestrians and cyclists. While the situation is forecast to improve from the west with milder temperatures throughout Saturday, higher elevations in the eastern half and central parts of the country may experience snow, rain, and gusty winds up to 60 km/h, with severe storm gusts up to 100 km/h anticipated on the Brocken.
