France apprehended the Russian "ghost fleet" oil tanker Boracay off the coast of Brittany in September, and it has now been revealed that two Russian security agents were aboard. These individuals, aged 34 and 40, were employed by the Russian private security firm Moran Security Group, founded by former FSB officers. Their mission was to protect the vessel, ensure the captain followed Russian interests, and gather intelligence along European coastlines. One of the agents is a former police officer with ties to the Wagner group. The captain of the Boracay is facing trial in Brest for refusing to comply with authorities, and his lawyer confirmed the presence of the two Russians, stating they represented the cargo rather than being crew members.
