Raja Norazli Raja Nordin, the secretary of Negeri Sembilan's Dewan Keadilan dan Undang (DKU), has declared his indefinite suspension by several ruling chiefs on May 29 to be legally ineffective. He maintains his appointment by Yang di-Pertuan Besar Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir and his obligation to serve the state ruler exclusively. Raja Norazli stated that any action against him infringes upon the constitutional authority of the ruler and lacks legal standing. The ruling chiefs had accused him of failing to call a DKU meeting concerning the state's royal and adat crisis. However, Raja Norazli argued that the DKU cannot function without Tuanku Muhriz's presence and that any meeting held contrary to procedure would be void. He also cited pending court proceedings initiated by the chiefs as a reason for not convening the meeting.
