Diourbel: Father Breaks Down Door and Catches Daughter With... 07.07.2026

S. Niang, a 36-year-old mechanic, has been sentenced by the Diourbel summary jurisdiction court to four months in prison for the corruption of a minor. The case came to light in 2026, during the Pentecost holiday. Suspecting his 16-year-old daughter, K. Maïga, was lying about attending remedial classes, her father had her followed by his brother. The teenager then went to the mechanic's residence. After she refused to open the door, the father broke it down, pulled his daughter out, and physically disciplined her before filing a complaint. Both parties admitted to being in a romantic relationship for over two years. S. Niang stated that he intended to make the teenager his second wife. The mother indicated that she had been approached twice to formalize the union but had refused. The prosecutor had requested a six-month prison sentence. The court found S. Niang guilty and ordered him to pay 100,000 FCFA in damages.
