DIRECT. Guerre en Ukraine : Kiev et Moscou de retour à la table des négociations malgré des échanges "très tendus" la veille 18.02.2026

On Wednesday, February 18, 2026, Ukrainian and Russian delegations are set to resume negotiations in Geneva, under American mediation, aiming to resolve four years of conflict in Ukraine. The previous day's talks, lasting six hours, were described as "very tense" by a source close to the Russian delegation, with little apparent progress. Despite the strained atmosphere, White House emissary Steve Witkoff hailed President Trump's success in bringing the parties together as "significant progress." Ukraine is reportedly leveraging recent battlefield successes, including disruptions to Russian access to Starlink and a decline in Russian morale, as it enters these crucial discussions. Advisors from Germany, France, the UK, and Italy were also present at the InterContinental Hotel for the closed-door sessions.
