The Comptroller General of the Republic issued a ruling concluding that the former Minister of Security, Trinidad Steinert, acted illegally by requesting reserved information from the Investigative Police (PDI). On March 13, 2026, just two days after taking office, Steinert issued a reserved official letter requesting a detailed report on the personnel of an Anti-Narcotics and Organized Crime Brigade. The request included full names, identity card numbers, and ranks of officials transferred or removed from their investigative duties, as well as the grounds for the transfers and their current destinations.
