In a joint seminar at the University of Bern, former Federal Councilor Simonetta Sommaruga and political scientist Adrian Vatter analyzed the resilience of the Swiss system during times of crisis. Sommaruga, who as President of the Confederation announced the lockdown during the pandemic and applied emergency law, emphasized Switzerland's strength: 'We are extremely flexible.' She pointed to the successful management of the financial crisis and the end of banking secrecy.
