Dogs 'doing really well' after 250 found crammed in living room, RSPCA says 09.04.2026

Over 250 poodle-cross dogs, discovered in January at an undisclosed UK location, are reportedly "doing really well" after being found crammed into a single living room under extenuating family circumstances. The RSPCA, which took in 87 of the animals, stated that despite initial conditions like matted coats, many dogs have been successfully rehomed by the RSPCA and Dogs Trust, with some still receiving care. One rescued dog, Boone, who was underweight and unfamiliar with basic commands, has made significant progress and is now enjoying life with a former RSPCA inspector. The RSPCA will not pursue prosecution due to the owners' vulnerable nature, noting that such incidents are increasing by 70% in England and Wales and can be linked to mental health, cost of living, or poor breeding practices.
