Dozens of cocaine packages seized in Pacific, 11 rescued from shipwreck 07.05.2026

U.S. and Mexican law enforcement reported multiple successful operations targeting illicit drug trafficking in the Pacific Ocean. In one significant bust, the Mexican navy, with initial spotting assistance from Customs and Border Patrol air assets, seized approximately 1,990 pounds of cocaine from a go-fast vessel off the coast of Mexico after its crew allegedly jettisoned the drugs. This operation was one of at least three conducted by the Mexican navy recently. Other operations included the seizure of 22 packages of cocaine and the rescue of 11 shipwrecked individuals near Guerrero, the discovery of seven packages of cocaine and three stowaways on a container ship in Manzanillo, and the recovery of 34 packages of illicit cargo near Acapulco. These efforts contribute to a significant total of 65.5 tons of cocaine seized under the current administration.
